Take Action!

BE MOVED GET CHALLENGED TAKE ACTION !

Human Rights Human Wrongs will move you in one way or another. Through films and debates you will get angry, sad, happy, but hopefully also enlightened and optimistic. After a screening we often sit back with energy and a feeling of “What can I do about this?”. We at the festival wish to facilitate possible channels for this energy. We cooperate with different types of organizations that work every day on human rights issues that we focus on during our festival. This page is the first step you could take to involve yourself and take action. If you have a good idea related to taking action we would love to hear from you. (this page will be updated)

Freddy – www.fredensborger.org

Norway produces more than 150.000 tonnes of textile waste annually! FREDDY loves t-shirts.
That’s why we collect, redesign, and trade the t-shirts you don’t use.
The surplus is granted entirely to peace- and development projects.

Peace can be built in different ways. FREDDY believes in prudent consumption and fair
allocation of resources as building blocks of peace. When you purchase a FREDDY-shirt
you contribute to waste reduction and support an aid project in one go.

Currently FREDDY cooperates with the Norwegian Support Committee for Western Sahara,
and assigns the surplus to local activists working to document human rights violations in Western Sahara.
Western Sahara is Africa’s last colony, and has been occupied by Morocco since 1975. Since then the majority
of Saharawis has been living in refugee camps in Algeria. Those remaining in their homeland are frequently
victims of serious abuse from the Moroccan authorities.

FREDDY is based on the vision – Peace of clothing -

Regnskogsfondet – www.regnskog.no

Nestekjærlighet.no – www.nestekjærlighet.no

landets grunnleggende humanistiske tradisjoner.
